  • Students will be required to pay two mandatory student fees (Activity Fee and TRU-U Pass) at Thompson Rivers University (approximately $120). Additional student specific fees (i.e. printing, class fees, etc.) are the responsibility of the student.
  • You will be automatically enrolled in the Medical Insurance plan, approximately C$ 300/semester.  Work with TRU Inbound Exchange to provide proof if you believe you are eligible to opt out. 
  • You will be charged for some of your regular student fees at NAU, the Technology Fee and Fin Aid Trust Fee.
  • Academic college fees may apply, please contact your department for additional info.
  • You will not need to pay any other student fees at TRU aside from the two mentioned since you have paid your NAU Fees. 
  • You will not be applying for study permit but a visitor permit since your program is less than six months.
  • Housing note: to stay in a homestay, TRU residence & Conference Centre, or On-Campus Housing there is a $150.00 placement fee.

  • Fees, personal expenses, books, airfare, health insurance, housing, meals, and visa are estimated and subject to change without notice. 
  • The application fee is non-refundable.
  • If you withdraw your application after you’ve committed, you will be charged an additional $500 cancellation fee.
Note: For exchange programs, the only charges that you will pay to NAU are your application fee, tuition, student fees, and health insurance. If you choose to live on-campus with the host university, in private off campus housing, or with a host family, you will pay your housing charges directly to the host university, host landlord, or host family.
