ISA PROGRAMS FOR NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE AND SONOMA STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
This application is for National Student Exchange (NSE) and Sonoma State students going abroad on a ISA program to the United Kingdom and Ireland through NSE and NAU. You will be responsible for applying on our website (see the "How to Apply" section below), as well as to the ISA program of your choice through the ISA website.

ACADEMICS
Please be sure to work with your home university advisors to review the academic offerings for the ISA program(s) you are interested in. Please consult the ISA webpage for your program(s) of interest for specific information regarding academic offerings.

Post Study Abroad - Transcripts

  1. Send your host country university transcript to your NAU Study Abroad Advisor
  2. You will need to request your NAU transcript to be sent back to home university
  3. Your NAU transcript will show transfer credit for your courses taken abroad with ISA

Housing options vary depending on the ISA program you are interested in. Please consult the ISA webpage for your program for specific information regarding your housing options.


COSTS

  • Any home university fees (application fee, etc.)
  • Any NSE fees (application fee, etc.)
  • NAU fees (this can be paid through your NAU LOUIE account)
    • $500 program fee
    • Student fees (approximately $206)
  • ISA program fee (based on specific program and paid directly to ISA)
  • Additional expenses
    • International airfare
    • Any personal expenses, books, and meals while abroad

REQUIREMENTS
2.5 GPA, in addition to any requirements specific to your ISA program of choice.


HOW TO APPLY
You are embarking on an extended application process to study abroad. Please make sure you complete all of the following steps to make this as easy as possible:

  1. To apply to this program you must first have applied to and been admitted through NSE.
  2. Once placed and you have signed your PAF your home coordinator will let us know where you want to study abroad.
  3. Submit where you would like to study abroad and your official home university transcript to the NAU NSE Coordinator.
  4. Begin an NAU study abroad application for NSE and Sonoma State students for the region you plan to study abroad. Hit the "Apply Now" button found at the top of this page. Once applied, you will have your own personal study abroad page, with a checklist of items needed in order to complete your application. 
  5. You will receive an email from your NAU Study Abroad Advisor. Work with your NAU advisor to complete the NAU application for study abroad
  6. Please be aware that you will also need to start an additional application directly through ISA.
