Sheffield is the fourth-largest city in England and is one of the greenest cities in Europe with a population of about 600,000. Its name derives from the River Sheaf, which runs throughout the city. Approximately one-third of the city lies within national park space and there are over 250 parks, woodlands, and gardens in the city. Sheffield is home to the world's oldest football club, Sheffield F.C. and is home to the World Snooker Championship, a billiards competition.
