Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is a city of about 900,000 inhabitants. It is located in the west of the country, in the region of North Holland. Amsterdam has more than 100 kilometres (60 miles) of canals, most of which are navigable by boat. The city is considered the cultural and financial hub for the Netherlands, and is home to the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, the oldest stock exchange in the world. It is also one of the world's most multicultural cities, with at least 177 nationalities represented.
The Faculty of Business and Economics at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) is the largest school of business in the Netherlands, and was established in 1867. The Faculty of Business and Economics is organized into four program clusters: School of International Business; Marketing, Trade and Sales; Management and Organisation; and Finance and Accounting. Click here to see a sample list of Courses within the Business program.
Students who wish to receive academic credit (aside from general elective and liberal studies credit) must have their courses pre-approved by the appropriate department. To view a list of academic advisors, please review the information in our Academics section. Once you apply through our website, you will be able to enter the classes you wish to take electronically. These classes can be reviewed and approved directly by faculty once entered. If you would like courses abroad to count for general elective credit or liberal studies credit only, please contact your Education Abroad advisor for those approvals.

AUAS provides students with housing assistance
. The school has agreements with various housing corporations in order to provide furnished accommodation to international students for a maximum period of one year. It is a challenge to find suitable accommodation in Amsterdam, therefore it is important to arrange your accommodation as soon as possible. Please note that individual students cannot apply for AUAS rooms themselves, but must be put forward by the school. Once you are accepted, AUAS will send you information about housing.
